Bailiffjob.co.uk has been working in conjunction with Dave Kari, a leading self-defence instructor and trainer, to provide a bespoke self-preservation training course to the bailiff industry.
Any industry that involves working with members of the general public who have been placed in positions of great stress can carry an element of danger, so being able to plan for, perceive, avoid and react to these situations is paramount to remaining safe whilst working.
Dave Kari has offered training courses to many industry employees that experience similar situations to bailiffs over his 20 year career, including Paramedics, Police Officers, Prison Guards and Doormen. We have worked with Dave to design a course that has been specifically modified and adapted to provide the learning and direction that all bailiffs will need when undertaking their role. Whilst the course is concise enough to be taught in one day, the teaching methods employed and the relevance of the material mean that the skills gained will keep you or your employees as safe as possible for the duration of your career (periodic refresher courses are recommended).
The bailiff industry is undergoing radical change to the way its operatives are licensed. Plans to move away from the traditional knowledge-based certification process have been earmarked, with a move to a more skill-based licensing system preferred. The new licensing system will be overseen by the S.I.A (Security Industries Authority), who has outlined nine specific areas for consideration when licensing. Four of those considerations are; avoiding conflict and reducing risk, defusing conflict, reducing conflict, post incident consideration and learning from conflict. These areas are covered in great depth in our course therefore will not only keep you safe, but prepare you for the imminent changes to the industry. Our plan is to work closely with the S.I.A to further develop our course so that the desired level of skills can already be quantified when applying for the future license.
